The
Senior/Adult Museum Tour
Adults and Seniors are encouraged to tour the museum at their own pace and
spend as much time as they would like examining our Plantation Spinner (one of
only seven in the United States), our 130 year old loom, and our three foot
tall Boll Weevil. Many examples of machinery ranging from our mule-drawn culitvator to our Cessna Ag-Wagon crop duster are housed in
our 12,000 square foot building along with a tenement farm-house mock up and
modern spinners and looms.

Educational Opportunites at the
At the
Our educational programs are geared to various age levels. Teachers may also select from our library of video presentations to enhance the educational experience.
Our younger visitors participate in the "From Field to Fiber" program, in which our staff describes how seed cotton is transformed into usable cotton fiber.
Older groups experience our "Question and Answer" program. Each team of students is provided with a short list of questions and given twenty minutes to explore the museum and find the answers. While some of the questions can be answered by reading the descriptive text in the exhibit area, most require the student to use logical thinking skills. After the allotted twenty minutes have expired, the team members consult with each other, and then each group presents their answers to the entire class. Team members comprehension and understanding of the subject matter are often tested by our staff, as we like to ask them questions based on their presentation.
At the conclusion of each educational program, the group is allowed to tour the exhibit area again with a greater understanding of the subject matter. Questions are always welcome! Please allow ninety minutes to experience our educational programs.
